The Tools I Use To Succeed:
On a daily basis I face relentless stress. Why? It is the nature of my business, actually my life. I am self employed. Responsible for the daily success, and growth of my company. I work for couples dealing with the most stressful day of their lives. We have one shot at getting it right. There are no trial runs. There is no room for error, There is no, "oh, I am sorry your flower shipment just did not arrive", OR "oh, sorry we are sold out of chair covers" OR "oh, I am sorry I just cannot do this for you today". I have to pull it all together and deliver on the promises and committments I make on a weekly / daily / hourly basis. Everyone wants everything yesterday! STRESS. I am turning 40 this year, as I mature I realize daily the importance of self guidance, and aligning myself with who I am and where I want to go as a business owner, and a member of my family and what impact/contribution I want to leave on society as a whole. Obviously turning 40! Creating & Living A Moral Fabric: Just recently I shared an experience in business that made me stop and think about my "big picture". Everyday I meet such wonderful, encouraging people. Someone pings me with a " you go girl" or "good for you" or I get a strong hand shake, and a positive smile, and I feel like my entire universe is in line. The great God of life is shining his rays on me and I feel fine!!! Then, from absolutely nowhere. SCREEEECH! You share a moment with someone who "stops your music dead". My skin is leather, 6" thick leather, I have endured it all but you know what, I will never get used to someone halting my record. Never! Moral fabric is the thickness underneath you. It is that code of ethics that prevents you from being mean to a young child, or a small animal. It is about taking a moment to look outside your own self serving agenda and considering what others are doing for you and showing them appreciation. I am learning as I get older that this fabric is an essential part of collaboration, growth and positive healthy relationships. Good things happen to Good people because they are Good.
